Dr. Creech is a Water Resources Engineer with 18 years of experience specializing in Integrated Water Resource Management and Navigation. Dr. Creech has expertise in Waterway and Port Navigation Projects, River Engineering, Fluvial Geomorphology, Dredging, Sediment Transport, and Multi-Dimensional Hydrodynamic Modeling.
Between 2012 and 2023, Dr. Creech has been working as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Brazil Team Lead with the Brazilian National Department of Transportation Infrastructure, the Brazilian National Water Agency and the Company for Development of the São Francisco River Valley on reservoir operations and water management, navigation, flood risk management, hydraulic engineering, regional sediment management, and hydraulic and hydrologic modeling projects. Dr. Creech was the lead technical subject matter expert in Latin America advancing capacity building and knowledge transfer programs for the USACE Mobile District and South Atlantic Division. Dr. Creech has led water resources projects in Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Honduras, Panama, and Colombia. Prior to this experience, he led bi-national hydraulic and navigation engineering projects on the Great Lakes Connecting Channels and Great Lakes Tributaries as a Hydraulic Engineer in the USACE Detroit District. Prior to joining USACE, Dr. Creech was the water resources lead for a private consulting firm. Dr. Creech completed projects related to river restoration, fluvial geomorphology studies, and hydraulic modeling.
Dr. Creech has earned degrees from Lawrence Technological University, University of Michigan, and Wayne State University for a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. respectively, all in Civil Engineering. He has been awarded the 2012 Detroit District Innovator of the Year, the 2015 USACE Engineer of the Year from the South Atlantic Division and was designated as one of the Top Ten engineers in the United States Federal Government by the National Society of Professional Engineers in 2016. In 2019, Dr. Creech was appointed as a Fulbright Specialist by the US Department of State for his work in Latin America. In 2020, Dr. Creech was assigned as a member of the USACE River Engineering Committee for USACE Headquarters.
