News StoryCaude Wins Race for PIANC PresidentThe U.S. Section would like to congratulate Mr. Geoffroy Caude from France who won the recent "historic" PIANC Presidential election. The election took place on May 17th at the Annual General Assembly in Berlin, Germany. The United States was proud to support our own candidate, Mr. James McCarville of the Port of Pittsburgh Commission. There were four candidates total running for the PIANC Presidency, additionally: Philippe Rigo, Belgium; and Christian De Meyer, Belgium (nominated by the UK Section). Each member country was assigned a set number of votes based on its membership count. The election had to go to a second round, with the United States and France as the two finalists. It was an exciting event in the history of PIANC since this was the first time an election has been held for the position of PIANC President. We look forward to working with Mr. Caude to support the PIANC mission.
