PIANC Coffee Talk: The Future of Inland Navigation

Join us for coffee as we discuss the "Future of Inland Navigation" at the National Waterways Conference, Inc., Annual Meeting (September 23-25, 2009). PIANC USA will host a 'coffee discussion group' at this year's meeting in Charleston, West Virginia. All NWC attendees are welcome to attend.

PIANC USA has been working with its European partners on the smart rivers '21 conference series. The fourth international smart rivers '21 Conference will be held September 06-09, 2009, in Vienna, Austria. The aim of this event is to strengthen and reinforce cooperative activities and to promote inland water navigation. It also aims to encourage mutual dialog between Europe and the USA on topics such as: Availability of infrastructure; Economic development; Climate and environmental protection; Water bound tourism; Contribution of IWT to economic needs; Role of ports; Education & Training; and MORE!

During our PIANC USA coffee discussion at the NWC Annual Meeting, we will share some of the technical findings from the conference, which we hope will stimulate a lively discussion.
