New Working Groups Announced - Call for Members

PIANC recently announced several new working groups. Please see the "Terms of Reference" for more information on each group.

• InCom 139: Values of Inland Navigation (pdf, 85 KB)
• InCom 140: Semi-probabilistic Design Concept for Inland Hydraulic Structures (pdf, 82 KB)
• InCom 141: Design Guidelines for Inland Waterways (pdf, 74 KB)
• InCom 142: Inland Navigation Safety (pdf, 95 KB)
• EnviCom 143: Screening Evaluation of Environmental Effects of Navigation and Infrastructure Projects (pdf, 31 KB)
• MarCom 144: Classification of soils and rocks for the maritime dredging process (terms of reference, pdf, 28 KB)
• MarCom 145: Berthing velocities and fender design (terms of reference, pdf, 77 KB)

The US Section will appoint a (1) Principal Rep, an (2) Alternate, and a (3) "Young Professional" - someone 40 and under. We are also looking for potential members of a subcommittee who can assist the representatives with preparation of the U.S. portions of the working group report. The Principal Representative should be able to attend meetings of the working group, which are usually held in a European city, approximately twice per year.

PIANC USA does not provide travel or per diem expenses for working group participants, so this support must be provided by the individual or his/her agency/company.
