Meet the Commissioners
Anne Cann serves as Secretary of PIANC USA, bringing more than 33 years of diverse professional work experience to this position. Eleven of these have been with the Institute for Water Resources (IWR), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where she has been involved with a wide range of projects including the Inland Waterways Users Board, Transportation Research Board, Scenario-based Strategic Planning for the Corps Civil Works program, Future Directions work, PIANC USA, and Partnering with the Natural Resources Conservation Service. Before coming to IWR, Anne was a policy analyst with the Canada Center for Inland Waters in Burlington, Ontario, (Canadian Department of the Environment) for 16 years. A major effort there culminated in a report on Toxic Chemicals in the Great Lakes Basin Ecosystem. She also worked on several IJC Studies (Canada and the U.S.) on the levels and flows in the Great Lakes - St. Lawrence River System.
